National Day of Prayer

The 64th Annual National Day of Prayer is here!

Heavenly Father, We come to You in the Name that is above every name—Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Our hearts cry out to You. Knowing that You are a prayer-answering, faithful God—the One we trust in times like these—we ask that You renew our spirits, revive our churches, and heal our land. We repent of our sins and ask for Your grace and power to save us. Hear our cry, oh God, and pour out Your Spirit upon us that we may walk in obedience to Your Word. We are desperate for Your tender mercies. We are broken and humbled before You. Forgive us, and in the power of Your great love, lift us up to live in Your righteousness. We pray for our beloved nation. May we repent and return to You and be a light to the nations. And we pray for our leaders and ask that You give them wisdom and faith to follow You. Preserve and protect us, for You are our refuge and only hope. Deliver us from all fears except to fear You, and may we courageously stand in the Truth that sets us free. We pray with expectant faith and grateful hearts. In Jesus’ name, our Savior. Amen. – Dr. Jack Graham. 2015 National Prayer.

Pray
Sanctus Real
I bow my head to pray, I don’t know what to say

I’m not sure how to fix the things I’m dealing with

I’m in a desperate place, I need to share the weight

But I just don’t know how, to let it all pour out

Though I’m silent, my heart is crying

Cause I was made to come to You.

The National Day of Prayer (36 U.S.C. § 119) is an annual day of observance held on the first Thursday of May, designated by the Congress of the United States, when people are asked “to turn to God in prayer and meditation”. Each year since its inception, the President has signed a proclamation, encouraging all Americans to pray on this day.

Faithfulness Reflection Devotion

Fruit of the Spirit
Fruit of the Spirit

The Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations. Psalm 100:5.

It may seem surprising when children do not follow their parents’ example of faith in God. Equally unexpected is a person with a deep commitment to Christ who emerges from a family where faith was not present. In every generation, each person has a choice.

Samuel was a great man of God who appointed his two sons, Joel and Abijah, as leaders over Israel. 1 Sam. 8:1-2. Unlike their father, however, they were corrupt and “turned aside after dishonest gain, took bribes, and perverted justice.” 1 Sam. 8:3. Yet, years later, we find Heman, Joel’s son, appointed as a musician in the house of the Lord. 1 Chron. 6:31-33. Heman, Samuel’s grandson, along with Asaph, his right-hand man and the author of many of the Psalms, served the Lord by singing joyful songs. 1 Chron. 15:16-17.

Even though a person seems indifferent toward the faith so precious to his or her parents, God is still at work. Things can change in later years, and seeds of faith may spring to life in generations to come.

No matter what the family situation may be, we know that “the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations.”  – David McCasland – Daily Bread.

Faithful God
 Gateway Worship

If I call, will You come
When I cry, do You hear
I believe every tear
Is caught up by a faithful God
So I will cry until You come
Cast my cares into Your arms
I can’t see past this storm
But I’m counting on a faithful God.

Dear Lord, help me to remember that You are the one who causes the seed of faith to grow. We give our loved ones into Your care, knowing that the end of the story has not yet been written.
God’s faithfulness extends to all generations.
INSIGHT: Psalm 100 is a short psalm, only five verses, in which we are encouraged to shout, serve, sing, give thanks, praise, and bless the Lord. We should shout joyfully, serve gladly, and bless Him because the Lord is God; because He made us and we belong to Him Psalm 100:3.; and because He is good, merciful, and always forgiving.
AMEN!

Much we need Thy tender care;
In Thy pleasant pastures feed us,
For our use Thy folds prepare:

Wellness Out of Surgery Devotion

Teacher, life can sometimes be so uncertain. We love our children as only parents can. Yet when we least expect it, we may find our child on the precipice, illness at the door. This may appear to come out of nowhere. What can we do?

We can fully trust in the Lord our Savior, as he loves us and knows all, especially where we are going as we head down this life journey that we sometimes feel is a great challenge. We fully trust that through Him, in Him and with Him, we will be delivered from all iniquity to life everlasting.  We Pray …

The Healing Song – performed by Andre Forbes
A Series of Prayers acknowledging our faith in the Lord, His love for us and our children.  As Scripture states Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” Matt. 19:14.  Trust in Him. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.  Rom. 15:13.

Sick child

Lord Jesus Christ, Good Shepherd of the sheep, You gather the lambs in Your arms and carry them in your bosom: We commend to Your loving care this child.  Relieve his pain, guard him from all danger, restore to him your gifts of gladness and strength, and raise him up to a life of service to you.  Hear us, we pray, for Your dear Name’s sake.

Surgery

Almighty Lord our heavenly Father, graciously comfort Your young servant in his suffering, and bless the means made use of for his cure.  Fill his heart with confidence that, though at times he may be afraid, he yet may put his trust in you; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Recovery

O Lord of heavenly powers, by the might of Your command You drive away from our bodies all sickness and all infirmity: Be present in Your goodness with Your servant, that his weakness may be banished and his strength restored; and that, his health being renewed, he may bless Your holy Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Lord, Your compassions never fail and Your mercies are new every morning: We give You thanks for giving our brother both relief from pain and hope of health renewed.  Continue in him, we pray, the good work You have begun; that he, daily increasing in bodily strength, and rejoicing in Your goodness, may so order his life and conduct that he may always think and do those things that please You; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

For Health of Body and Soul of the Entire Family
May God the Father bless you, God the Son heal you, God the Holy Spirit give you strength.  May God the holy and undivided Trinity guard your body, save your soul, and bring you safely to His heavenly country; where He lives and reigns for ever and ever.

Amen

I want to walk as a child of the light;

Holy God,

Welcome! Witness on the Road to Emmaus

Celebration for the Community
Everyone is Welcome!
These are the words which I spoke to you, while I was with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. Luke 24.

Road to Emmaus
The Steeles
Prayers:
  • Through the resurrection of your son, O God,
you destroy the power of death
    and remove your people’s shame.
By the power of the Spirit,
    raise us from sin
and seat us at the paschal feast,
that we may rejoice in the gift of salvation
Jesus has won for us. Amen.
  • O God, at this evening hour,
the risen Christ revealed himself to his disciples
    in the breaking of bread.
Feed us with the bread of life
    and break open our hearts,
    that we may know him
not only in the good news of the scriptures,
but risen in the midst of your pilgrim people. Amen.

We are all stewards spreading the Word of Jesus’ blessings for His people.

Atonement Ceremony Forgiveness for Sins

Yet on the Day of Atonement, the High Priest entered the Holy of Holiest to atone for his sins and his family, and then with a pure and sanctified heart and body, he then atoned for the sins of all Israel.  Here standing before the ark of the testimony, the High Priest wore a sacred garment of white linen as he presented the prayed and supplication of his people before the ark which represented the very Throne of God. Comparing Scripture in the Bible to the Torah.
