Almighty, all-merciful God,
\nthrough Christ Jesus you have taught us to love one another,
\nto love our neighbors as ourselves,
\nand even to love our enemies.
\nIn times of violence and fear,
\nlet the peace of Christ rule in our hearts,
\nso that we may not be overcome with evil
\nbut overcome evil with good.
\nHelp us to see each person in light of the love and grace
\nyou have shown us in Christ.
\nPut away the nightmares of terror
\nand awaken us to the dawning of your new creation.
\nEstablish among us a future where peace reigns,
\njustice is done with mercy, and all are reconciled.
\nWe ask these things in the name
\nand for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
